I'm back!

1 min read
Sort of!

Mostly, I'm really very busy working on The Girl With No Name, which means not much time for posting. I've settled on doing the entire book in watercolor, which means I have a LOT of work ahead of me. Check back here from time to time for updates, as I'll be posting progress shots of some of the (non-spoiler) pages (~_^)!

Beginning with this month's Ikasucon, I am canceling all my planned conventions for the remainder of the year. Why? Well, I've got some major art projects up in the air and they need my full attention! Selling at cons is always a fantastic time for me, but the amount of time I have to invest preparing, traveling to, participating in, and traveling back means devoting nearly two weeks to each convention I attend. Those lost days really add up, especially if I happen to get sick after a con (AnimeBoston, AnimeNEXT, I'm looking at you  ). It's high time I got back to focusing on my illustration work, and my inner hermit is looking forward to holing up in my Art Fort for a good long while (>w<)b I do apologize to anyone who was hoping to snag a commission from me later this year :bademoticon:.

Officially Canceled:
Bullet; Orange Otakon
:bulletorange: Saikoucon
:bulletorange: AnimeUSA
:bulletorange: Anime Weekend Atlanta
:bulletorange: Tsubasacon
:bulletorange: Nekocon

For those still interested in purchasing Vanilla Frills jewelry, I will be slowly adding product to the Etsy Shop over the coming weeks/months. Currently, I have a full selection of macaron and cupcake necklaces in stock!

So what about 2014? Well, I am definitely planning on returning to the convention circuit next year! Stayed tuned for future schedule announcements

So I ended up heading off to AnimeNEXT not fully recovered from the con plague I caught at Anime Boston, got through the weekend with a fair amount of energy, and was promptly knocked out by con plague again after I got home. I can say quite emphatically that I'm REALLY sick of being sick!!

However, I had a lovely time at NEXT, and was pleased to meet (and room with) :iconmoonyen: and her adorable BabyBun  I think I fell in love with BabyBun a little o(>w<)o! The staff at NEXT were also lovely, helpful people (even though it was occasionally rather hard to hear announcements over Main Events right behind the AA curtain), and so many of my customers were wonderfully friendly  I've got a fair amount of jewelry leftover that will be going up into the Etsy shop; I really mean it this time! ^^; I know I haven't updated my shop in forever, but I am determined to make it happen now that I'm mostly recovered from con plague.

And because I like to keep track, I took 35 sketch commissions this weekend :w00t: It's always tricky to manage my commission queue when I'm the only one at the table, so my apologies to anyone who had to wait a bit longer than expected for me to finish their sketch m(_ _)m I promise it wasn't for lack of trying! Also, a HUGE thank you to my Anime Boston customers who came by to see me again after only commissioning me two weeks ago!! You guys are amazing, seriously. I'm always pleasantly surprised to see familiar faces at my table; it makes me feel like I'm doing something right! :XD:

NEXT UP: Ikasucon in Ft. Wayne, IN, July 12-14! I'll be splitting a booth with :iconnightengaleneedles:, and I'm super excited to have so much space! Put it on your calendar, kids! It promises to be a fantastic time :D

AnimeNEXT!

Wow! AnimeBoston was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C this year :happybounce:!! Seriously, what an awesome weekend. I sold a ton of jewelry, took almost 40 commissions, and even managed to get some sleep, LOL. Everything went so smoothly, I can't believe what a stress-free Alley Nikki O'Shea manages to provide for artists year after year. I can't wait to see what next year has in store ^^!

Next up, however, is AnimeNEXT in Somerset, NJ, 6/7-6/9! I'll be sharing a space with my roommate and fellow artist, Nightengale Needles, so along with my usual art and jewelry, you'll be seeing some nifty plushwork at my table! I won't have room for prints at this con, but I will, of course, be offering sketch commissions all weekend  I'm also working on brand new batches of macaron and cupcake necklaces!

Also, if you commissioned me at AnimeBoston for a mail-order sketch, they will be going out in next Monday's postal run :) Keep an eye out for your tracking numbers!

After AnimeNEXT, I won't be at another con until Ikasucon, so if you'd like a commission in the meantime, feel free to drop me a note here on dA. Prices are the same as at-con commissions: 4x6" for $10, 6x8" for $15, and 12x12" for $30. Shipping is generally $2-$3, and I only accept payment through Paypal.
